Prayer for Parish

Christ Jesus,

You who love us and deepen in us the knowledge of Your name and Your love, open all doors and make known the way of salvation, You call us to take time and to be with You in prayer, to draw close to You and to seek Your Will.

You desire to purify our hearts and to lead us to repentance draw us together as a community and help us to open our hearts to appreciate the gift of each other.

Bless our Parish Community and all those we love. May your grace lead us to a new Pentecost in our lives to go and proclaim the Good News to all and a deeper desire to live the mission of the Church.

Part 2: Strengthening One’s Relationship with God: Prayer and Sacraments

The Catechism of the Catholic Church emphasises the importance of prayer and the Sacraments in the life of a Christian. It refers to prayer as the means through which we celebrate our faith in God and enter into a personal relationship with Him (2558). As we do this, the Sacraments mark all the important stages of our Christian life and sustain us in our sense of mission as Christians (1210). Join us as we explore what prayer is, the difference between saying prayers and praying, and how the seven Sacraments can deepen and give meaning to our unique relationship with God.

We recognise that there is a deep desire for everyone to receive communion and return to their regular prayer life including Mass. The new government regulations put a limit of 20 people plus 10 helpers, who can attend a particular Mass.

We have increased the number of Masses available during the week and on the weekend, but we realise that it still may not be enough to allow everyone to participate in the Weekend Mass. If you can’t be at Mass on the weekend, you will continue to be dispensed of your obligation to attend Sunday Mass.

We ask for your understanding and patience, as we try to do our best in providing for your needs in this difficult time. Let us all hope and pray, that it will not be long when everyone will have a free and easy access to the Sunday Eucharist.

This is a day of Fast and Abstinence
St Lawrence: Masses at 9am & 7.30pm
St Theresa: Mass at 10.30am

Lent is a time of preparation for Easter, which is the greatest feast day on our Christian calendar. We can prepare for it by spending more time on prayer, participating in the beautiful devotion of the Stations of the Cross (see times below) and participating in our 2021 Adult Faith Education Program (see details on our website).  All these activities give us an opportunity to renew our relationship with God and one another and to grow in our understanding and appreciation of the beauty of our Catholic faith.
