Prayer for Parish

Christ Jesus,

You who love us and deepen in us the knowledge of Your name and Your love, open all doors and make known the way of salvation, You call us to take time and to be with You in prayer, to draw close to You and to seek Your Will.

You desire to purify our hearts and to lead us to repentance draw us together as a community and help us to open our hearts to appreciate the gift of each other.

Bless our Parish Community and all those we love. May your grace lead us to a new Pentecost in our lives to go and proclaim the Good News to all and a deeper desire to live the mission of the Church.

This year is a very special one as Balcatta Parish celebrates its 60th anniversary.

The following events have been planned in honour of this milestone. Please mark your calendars, details to follow!

Friday 6th August the St Lawrence Dinner Dance will be held in the Alverna Hall at 7pm to celebrate both the Feast of St Lawrence and the 60th anniversary of the parish. Tickets are $45 per adult including wine and soft drinks.

Sunday 8th August for the Feast of St Lawrence there will be a Multicultural Mass at 9.30am followed by a Eucharistic Procession on the streets near the church. This is a great way to demonstrate our faith publicly by walking with the Blessed Sacrament, praying and singing together, finishing with a light shared lunch at about 11am in the Alverna hall. Everyone is welcome to come along and bring a plate of some traditional food from your country of origin to share, if you can.

Sunday 17th October for the 60th anniversary of the Parish there will be a Multicultural Mass at 10am followed by a picnic for all parishioners.

Please join us for these special events of thanksgiving for the whole parish community and contact the Parish office on 9344 7066 if you would like to purchase tickets for the St Lawrence Dinner Dance.

Your weekly donations of non-perishable food such as pasta, cereal, longlife milk, canned goods etc are a vital contribution. Donations of clean/new blankets are also needed as part of the Winter Appeal. Blankets can be left in the church foyers. Your regular and generous donations are very much appreciated.
